Generous property professionals from across the Midlands raised thousands of pounds for young carers at a popular annual charity music event in Birmingham.
Overbury’s Fit Out Charity Music Night saw 250 guests including surveyors, architects and planners, dance the night away to hits performed by the company’s house band, Ohio, and 18 budding musicians from the property sector.
The event, which took place at Saint Pauls House in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, raised £3,500 for Solihull Young Carers, a charity dedicated to empowering children and young people whose lives are affected by looking after a loved one who requires care. The donation will help young carers to enjoy a positive childhood and support them through to adulthood.
It was the sixth annual charity fundraiser for office fit out and refurbishment specialist, Overbury, whose team has raised more than £20,000 for causes in the past five years, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Overbury business development manager, Danny Parmar, said: “It was a great night and so much fun to be a part of. With such a good turn out from across the commercial property sector and a large amount raised for charity, it was possibly our best music event yet.
"Thank you to the Overbury team for its ongoing support, not only in fundraising but in raising awareness of young people who are caring for loved ones in our community."

“Huge thanks must go to my Overbury colleague Amanda Franks who organised the event, our house band and all of the musicians who joined them on stage and to everyone who donated. Solihull Young Carers is a great local cause which does such terrific work in making sure young people aren’t left feeling alone while they provide important care for their loved ones. It is a pleasure to raise funds on their behalf.”
Overbury’s company band, Ohio, was joined on stage by guitarists and vocalists from companies including Cundall, Fellows, RLB and MACE.
Gina Ward, team manager at Solihull Young Carers, said: “Thank you to the Overbury team for its ongoing support, not only in fundraising but in raising awareness of young people who are caring for loved ones in our community.
“Overbury is a great example of how businesses can support charities and have fun along the way. Funds raised will make a real difference to the lives of young carers, so thank you to everyone who donated and made the event possible.”
The event was sponsored by The Commercial Flooring Company, Torsion Engineering, Central Electricity Services, Umberslade, Sudlows, Woodcraft Joinery, Airmaster, Direct Cooling Systems, Universal Business Installations, Pinfold Projects, HCIP Interior Specialist and The Senator Group.
