Luxury housebuilder Duchy Homes has bolstered its Midlands division as part of the company’s ambitious growth plans, with the appointment of two industry professionals to join Managing Director, Steve Hird: Dene Shadbolt joins as Commercial Manager and Ben Sandford as Technical Manager.
Dene has a wealth of experience in the construction industry with former roles founding his own successful building company and then leading in the position of Senior QS for nearly ten years with Pye Homes. Attracted to the role of Commercial Manager with Duchy Homes by the exciting opportunity to help establish a new region during a pivotal period of expansion, Dene comments: “Duchy Homes’ focus on premium quality and exceptional customer care shows its genuine value of every homeowner, and I am immensely proud to be a part of its ongoing development as I join the Midlands teams to analyse land viability and manage the procurement process to ensure these high standards are maintained throughout the company’s growth.”
Managing the technical department, Ben will help cultivate site appraisals and new land acquisition, as well as developing design, planning and build, and overseeing customer handovers and aftercare. With skills acquired in previous senior Technical Manager roles with Barratt David Wilson Homes and Romford Homes, as well as eleven years of expertise as an Architectural Technologist and Project Manager, Ben says: “I was drawn to the opportunity of working with Steve Hird and Duchy Homes, helping to establish a new regional office in the West Midlands. It’s exciting to be a part of the company’s growth, and the West Midlands and surrounding areas offer some excellent land opportunities for us to create high-quality aspirational developments that exceed homebuyers’ expectations. Even as a relatively new company Duchy Homes’ numerous awards demonstrate that it is focused on building a reputation for excellence and very much being a customer-focused business.”
Duchy Homes is celebrating a successful six years of trading and is set on significant further expansion as it heads towards its first decade on the housebuilding market. Already, its newest Midlands division has terms agreed on three sites in villages surrounding historic Stratford-upon-Avon, and many more upcoming developments across its other divisions in the North West, Yorkshire and the North East.
Since its foundation in Yorkshire in 2011, Duchy Homes has grown significantly through thoughtful investment and a focus on building only the best luxury homes on small, well-placed developments to offer exclusivity, comfort and attention-to-detail to all its homebuyers.
"The West Midlands and surrounding areas offer some excellent land opportunities for us to create high-quality aspirational developments that exceed homebuyers expectations. "
Now with four divisions across the north of England and the Midlands, Duchy Homes has quickly earned a reputation for the highest standards in design, safety and quality, recognised by its repeated triumph year-on-year in the industry-acclaimed NHBC Awards.
Thanks to the collective hard work of its committed employees, the support of new significant investors, and a recently-granted revolving credit facility, Duchy Homes is on-plan to move from a small builder to a medium-sized operation over the next four-to-five years.
To support this exciting expansion plan, Duchy Homes is investing in a business-wide recruitment drive to build its teams in readiness for its planned growth. Its strong reputation attracts the best-skilled people and Duchy Homes has hand-picked its highly-experienced team to bring a wealth of design innovation and homebuilding knowledge that ensures the houses they create will continue to be of the highest quality.
With the UK showing a growing demand for new premium homes and many exciting new plots coming up in 2018, 2019 and 2020, Duchy Homes is really excited about delivering more of its signature new builds of which residents and local communities will be immensely proud.
